Roger Lemke chef patron at L'Auberge du Climont... Roger comes from a small village and fell in love with the magical Bruche Valley or rather Laurence, heir to a small eatery in Ranrupt whose grandma loved stewing casseroles for visiting cattle traders. The caterer/butcher/chef/baker took the plunge in 1999 and set up his kitchen in the village's solid Vosges building. Roger on Roger: "Meat, cheese, honey, apple juice or schnapps, whether it's in my kitchen or the dining room, lots of the produce comes from nearby valleys. There are lots of benefits to working with "locals", I've known most of them for 20 years. Of course quality is the most important thing but what I really like here is the sense of trust and warmth that locals stand out for. "Homemade" isn't a trend; it's always been that way here!"
