Built in the early 13th century, this castle was destroyed by the Swedes in 1633 during the Thirty Years' War. The French envisaged rebuilding it in 1705 but the project was never completed and stones from the castle were used in the construction of the church tower in 1757. The population took most of the remaining stones for their houses. The castle was restored by the City in 1969 and later renovated. View map
